Visa-free entry to the Republic of Belarus

According to the Presidential Decree*, foreign citizens of 74 countries** can enter Belarus for up to 30 days*** and exit from the territory of Belarus only through the State border checkpoint of the Republic of Belarus “Minsk National Airport”. 

To enter the Republic of Belarus in the visa-free regime via the checkpoint “Minsk National Airport”, foreign nationals should have the following documents:

  • a valid ordinary passport. The passport must be valid at least 90 days beyond intended date of departure from the Republic of Belarus;
  • financial means: amount equivalent to not less than 2 base rates for each day of stay or 50 base rates if the stay is full 30 days, in Belarusian rubles or foreign currency;
  • a medical insurance policy with coverage for at least 10 000 euros, valid in Belarus during the whole duration of stay.

When crossing the border by land all delegations members must apply to the foreign mission of the Republic of Belarus to obtain a Visa of the Republic of Belarus.


Visa-free entry and exit procedures at the Minsk National Airport checkpoint is not valid in case of transit through the airports of the Russian Federation. In this case, all members of the delegation must apply to the foreign mission of the Republic of Belarus to obtain a Visa of the Republic of Belarus.

Media representatives, citizens of countries that require visas to enter the Republic of Belarus, or who cross the border of the Republic of Belarus by land, after passing the temporary accreditation procedure by the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, need to apply to the foreign mission of the Republic of Belarus in the country of obtaining a visa to apply for documents. We strongly recommend that you check in advance all the requirements of the foreign mission.

You need to apply for a visa only at the foreign mission of the Republic of Belarus bypassing visa issuing centers or travel agencies.

A petition from the inviting party is a written confirmation of a visa for the press sent by the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the foreign mission of Belarus (visa support).

The deadline for submitting documents for temporary accreditation is May 10, 2020.
